Urchin Entertainment is an initiative of the Music Business program at Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE (MSIT).

Our mission is:

Giving practical experience to Queensland’s future music managers and facilitating networking with artists and industry to assist with the career development of all parties.

Promoting independent artists and their music to maximise their exposure to existing and potential audiences.

We are a diverse organisation and enterprise which offers services in the following areas:

• Record Label: Urchin Entertainment releases an annual compilation album featuring tracks by emerging Queensland artists. The albums also include the occasional “guest” tracks by established artists. The albums are distributed digitally in association with Musicadium.

• Internet Presence:  Urchin Entertainment has various websites that it uses to promote its business and the artists with which it works. In addition to this website, Urchin Entertainment also has a presence on MySpace, Facebook, and several other social networking sites. These sites are used for viral marketing and blogging.

• Events Management: Urchin Entertainment organises and promotes various events in association with TAFE music students. The events include music, theatrical and other events.

• Management Consultancy: Urchin Entertainment offers guidance and advice to emerging artists wishing to seek a career in the music industry.

• Artist Promotion: Assistance with various aspects of artists marketing portfolio, including image development, writing biographies, photo shoots, web design, and more.
